ஆகியவற்றை மிக நன்றாக விதுரர் விவரித்துள்ளார்.
    நம்மை நல்வழிப் படுத்துவதற்கு நான் ஏற்கனவே கூறியுள்ளபடி பெரியோர்கள்ää சான்றோர்கள் கூறிய கருத்தை ஏற்றுக் கொள்வது என்பது எப்பொழுதும் நன்மையே பயக்கும் என்ற கருத்தின்படி இதை நான் எழுதுகிறேன்.

விதுர நீதி :
    திருதராஷ்டிரர் மிகவும் குழம்பியிருந்த நிலையில்ää விதுரரை அழைத்து “நமக்கும் சரிää மற்றவர்களுக்கும் சரி நன்மை தரக்கூடிய வழி என்ன என்பதை எனக்குச் சொல்” என்றார் விதுரர். முதலில் பண்டிதரின் குணங்களில் இருந்து ஆரம்பிக்கிறார்.

பண்டிதரின் குணங்கள் :
    கோபம்ää மகிழ்ச்சிää மரியாதையின்மைää வெறிää தான் வணக்கத்திற்கு உரியவன் என்ற எண்ணம் - இவற்றால் பாதிக்கப்படாதவன் பண்டிதன் என்று கூறப்படுகிறான்.
    பண்டிதனாகப்பட்டவன் நடத்தும் ஆலோசனையை பிறரால் தெரிந்து கொள்ள முடியாது. அவன் ஒரு செயலைச் செய்த பிறகுதான்ää மற்றவர்களால் அதை புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியும்.
    மிகவும் பொறுமையுடனும்ää கவனத்துடனும்ää கேட்டுää விஷயங்களை புரிந்து கொள்கிறான். மற்றவர்கள் அவனிடம் கேட்காத போது அவன் ஆலோசனை கூறுவது இல்லை.

    அடையமுடியாததை அடைந்துவிட வேண்டும் என்று முனைவதில்லை.
    தன்னிடமிருந்து நழுவிப் போனதை நினைத்து மன உளைச்சல் பட்டுக் கொள்வதும் பண்டிதனின் வழக்கமன்று.

    ஓரளவு கற்றபிறகு மிகவும் கற்றுவிட்டதாக நினைப்பவர்கள் கெட்டவழியில் சென்றாவது செல்வத்தை ஈட்ட வேண்டும் என்று நினைப்பவர்கள்.
